Introducing On-Screen Bible

The new On-Screen Bible service item brings your preaching passage to life with subtle animation in three different styles.

Where to find it

You’ll find the “On-Screen Bible” listed with the rest of the service items in the “Add Item” menu. You can also create a new one using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift +O or Cmd+Shift+O.

How it works

The On-Screen Bible item functions much like the existing Bible service item. You can choose your preferred Bible translation from the list of available options in blue. (Pro tip: You can buy additional Bible translations at Type the passage into the “Reference” box, and your animation will be created in seconds. The “Reference” box will even suggest common passage breaks as you type.

If you select a passage too large for a single slide, Proclaim will break it into multiple slides along verse divisions. Two other things will also happen when you use the “Reference” box:

  • A Signal is created to broadcast the passage to your congregation’s mobile devices.
  • A new “Reference” box will appear so you can group multiple passages together in a single service item.

How it looks

You have three style options for your On-Screen Bible—a modern light-on-dark look, a fresher-feeling dark-on-light option, and a classic scrolling-text style. All three styles sport multiple color options. You also have the option to include a book-introduction slide, which may help underscore your introduction of the text and give congregants a moment to fire up their Faithlife Study Bible to follow along.

Best of all, this new feature is completely free. As a Proclaim On Air subscriber, you’ll instantly get new features like this when they’re introduced. So fire up Proclaim, download the update, and take the new On-Screen Bible for a spin.

Looks good when viewing in edit mode but fails to transition from book introduction/first slide of verse to secend slide of verse. Tried setting up auto-advance but no change. Just another glitch to fix. I do like the thought and look forward to the fix.

I like the app but I would like to have the one verse per slide option like the regular bible app. If this option becomes available I would like for the text to be larger so those who don't have their bibles at church can clearly read along. Thank You!

    On screen Bible:
I like the feature, but would like to have a layout with greater contrast between the text and the background.
The black & white scrolling background is very readable, but the scrolling bothers some folks in the congregation.
Being able to make the On Screen Bible layout customizable to us would be a great feature. If not possible, then perhaps a layout could be offered that does not scroll and has greater contrast between text and background.

Love this! It has helped me a lot, though if I could get an option for letter size? An idea for a future update maybe?
