If you’ve yet to enjoy the authentic, acoustic worship from Leslie Jordan and David Leonard, the duo forming the band All Sons and Daughters, we recommend you join the experience of praise through their new self-titled studio album. All Sons & Daughters blends modern folk with a pure adoration of Jesus—inviting God’s broken children back into his love.
Jordan says of their new work, “We’ve allowed ourselves to be more creative, more reflective of who we are, while still writing songs for the church.” The duo allows their souls to sing out in yearning for God, while enticing yours to do the same.
The song “For Your Glory & My Good,” cowritten with Derek Webb, is a prime example of the album’s genuine reflection of the heart. The lyrics of this song are poetic and weighty:
“I would be a fool if I could be made new.
Come ruin. Come ridicule.
Recklessly I come, I run to You.”
Jordan says the song was inspired by the bold faith of the bleeding woman in Mark 5. This woman took note of her complete need for Jesus and, with faithfulness, drew near to Jesus with assurance that only he could save her. Jordan states faith that bold is not seen much in today’s society, often being “ridiculed.”
