At first, congregations were buried in their hymnals. Then it was the overhead projector and when the bulb wasn’t burnt out, the transparencies would slide off every time someone opened the door to the sanctuary. Now, there’s the computer and projector combo but there’s still one slight problem—PowerPoint.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying PowerPoint is a terrible tool, but I am saying that it’s not the right tool for ministry. You can use desks in the sanctuary but it probably makes more sense to have pews or chairs. Similarly, PowerPoint may get the job done but there are simply too many things that it can’t do.
Here are 4 reasons why you should put PowerPoint aside next service, and try Proclaim:
- Proclaim is created for ministry: At its core, Proclaim is built with the Church’s needs in mind. Every feature included in Proclaim is designed to help make ministry easier. Features like the pre- and post-service loops make it easy to show announcements, and the warm-up section guarantees you’ll always start your services on time.
- Proclaim is optimized for Scripture: Faithlife makes the most advanced digital Bible study tools in the world. That expertise is built right into the Proclaim Scripture engine. Proclaim comes standard with over 20 Bible translations and features that let you bring up verses on the fly. If you’re running PowerPoint, you have no other option but to run third-party software to display Scripture during the service. Proclaim fully integrates with Logos Bible Software, allowing you to send content right from your library to the screen.
- Proclaim is built for lyrics and song management: With Proclaim, worship leaders can import lyrics directly from CCLI or planning software like Planning Center or Elvanto. Proclaim also has built-in hotkeys that let you easily bring up a no-text slide for an instrumental section, or display the bridge lyrics when the worship leader suddenly goes off script. No more duplicating slides, switching between presentations or showing the “End of Slideshow” screen while the band is still playing.
- Proclaim is collaborative: Proclaim provides your team with the tools they need to seamlessly assemble sermons, worship sets, announcements, and graphics from any computer, anywhere! Changes to presentations sync effortlessly between computers so you’ll never have to worry about losing files again. Collaboration means smoother services and less work for everyone involved!
When the tool serves the task and isn’t just a workaround, you get more done with less effort and better results. Put PowerPoint aside next service, and see how much time and energy you and your team will save with Proclaim.
